This update has fixed a lot of core issues with the game that have been setting back the fun experience we want to provide. With many of those issues now gone, we are looking to building the more complete experience beyond simple lasers- approaching the new year, we are actively working on customization options, new maps and modes, and other minor details like player statistics and cloud saved settings, in preparation for Steam Next Fest winter 2025!
While you can right now playtest The Laser Games for free, we are looking to gather funding for continued development of the game. In the future, we plan on splitting off the free playtest into a demo and a full paid game- it won't cost too much, but with player support, it can get us going quicker and better than in 2024 and 2023.
We are also looking to do crowdfunding campaigns, but the best way to succeed in crowdufnding is with a community- join us on Discord, or other social media, via the icons at the top of the website. Let us know what you want to see next in The Laser Games, or stay tuned for our next community event, such as a livestream this Friday 12/20 at 4 PM MST, to play the latest update!
Reflecting on this past year, the Laser Games has surpassed a big achievement- getting published in playtest format, on Steam. As we grow our community playerbase and get more people excited about laser tag wherever they play, we look forward to pushing the game forward to bringing the laser tag experience to each player, and to provide a platform that's fun for everyone, and in the future a place for players to build their own experiences. There's still a lot to do, and I can't wait for you to join us on the journey.
